Two HOT Fosmid end depth profiles (HOT179 and HOT186)

Microbial life predominates in the ocean, yet little is known about its genomic variability, especially along the depth continuum. We created fosmid libraries from eight seawater samples from Station Aloha in the North Pacific Subtropical Gyre. Samples were collected during two Hawaii Ocean Time Series (HOTS) cruises from 25m, 75m, 125m and 500m (HOT cruise 179) and 25m, 75m, 110m, and 500m (HOT cruise 186). The fosmid libraries were end-sequenced using Sanger shotgun sequencing.
