Trichodesmium Viral Community Metagenome
Viral metagenomic libraries were constructed from the <0.2um size fraction of three incubations after Trichodesmium lysis in which Trichodesmium were collected on a 10um filter, re-suspended in seawater and left to incubate for 12 hours until the Trichodesmium lysed. Two incubations were from Trichodesmium collected at the mouth of Tampa Bay, and the third incubation was collected at a station south of Tampa Bay on the Western Florida Shelf. One of the Tampa Bay incubations and the Western Florida Shelf incubation was amended with mitomycin C to induce prophages within microbial genomes. |  |  | |
