CMOP microbial metagenomics
Taxonomic and metabolic properties of microbial communities from the water column of the Columbia River estuary, plume and coastal Pacific Ocean were analyzed using metagenome sequencing. Samples were collected in August 2007 from four diverse habitats: 1) an estuarine turbidity maximum (ETM); 2) a chlorophyll maximum of the river plume; 3) an upwelling-associated hypoxic zone; and 4) the deep ocean bottom. After pre-filtering (200 ?m filters), metagenomic datasets were obtained from samples collected on 3.0, 0.8 and 0.1-?m filters using 454-titanium sequencing. |  | | |
