Importance of organism and transcriptomesNeoparamoeba is one of the amoebozoan genera containing a ?parasome?, an obligate kinetoplastid symbiont located near the nucleus. It belongs to a group of amoebae, of which most of species were observed to be agents of mortal diseases of marine fishes and invertebrates. Transcriptome data available for Neoparamoeba may clarify the nature of the host-symbiont relationships in this system and contribute to understanding the evolution of Discosea.
