| Importance of organism and transcriptomes | Togula jolla is a common dinoflagellate in benthic, temperate intertidal environments. Morphologically it is very much a gymnodinialean, but phylogenetic trees based on rRNA genes have not been able to place the genus with any degree of certainty. Nevertheless it does not seem to be a member of the large Amphidinium clade. The strain proposed to be used for this study is one of the ones used for the description of the species. |
