Importance of organism and transcriptomes | The purpose of this study is to analyze the molecular response of D. hansenii in the presence of a bioavailable toxic metal so as to better understand its effect on biological processes within the organism and its ability to tolerate metal stress. This transcriptomic analysis of differential gene expression will help us to evaluate prospective reporter genes that may or may not be directly associated to metabolic pathways related to metal tolerance as a first step in the development of a potential biosensor for heavy metal-contaminated marine areas. This transcriptome will show gene expression levels in D. hansenii after exposure to cobalt(II). |
