Importance of organism and transcriptomes | The diatom genus Skeletonema is an abundant component of many estuarine and coastal environments around the globe. Along the Northeast coast of the US, this planktonic genus is a major contributor to primary productivity. Transcriptomes of S. menzelii generated here will be used to better understand the bloom dynamics of species in the genus Skeletonema. |
