Importance of organism and transcriptomesPerkinsus marius is a pathogenic protist causing "dermo" disease among oysters in estuaries, causing dramatic damages to shellfish industries. Members of the genus Perkinsus are closely related to, but distinct from, dinoflagellates. It has two spliced leaders.
